Crypto is regulated in Kenya. The Virtual Asset Service Providers Act 2025 established a licensing framework overseen jointly by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), making Kenya one of the more clearly regulated crypto markets in Africa. Rules continue to take shape, so treat this page as general information rather than legal advice and confirm what applies to you.
Safety-wise, AfriKash keeps things transparent during the launch phase: no account, no deposit in advance, and you only send crypto once the amount and rate have been confirmed in writing from the Account page. We never ask for your private keys, your M-Pesa PIN or any password — and neither should anyone else. Each completed trade comes with a written receipt: crypto received, rate applied, shillings paid out.
M-Pesa payouts usually arrive within 5 to 30 minutes after we confirm receipt of your crypto. Bank transfers take 30 minutes to 24 hours, and cash pickup depends on the partner closest to you in Nairobi or Mombasa.
Both. M-Pesa is the dominant wallet in Kenya with around 91% of the mobile money market, and Airtel Money is the main alternative. Choose the mobile money option in the calculator, then tell us your preferred wallet and number from the Account page.
